At Remove My Car, we buy most types of scrap vehicles on the basis of their scrap metal value. But some scrap cars we buy for their salvage value, as they may have parts that can be re-used. While car parts are not something we sell, scrap car dealers that work in partnership with us can provide you with parts for certain types of vehicles. Our Parts page contains a form that you can use to find parts at some of our associates’ businesses, all of which are authorised to sell scrap car parts.
Why don’t we sell scrap car parts ourselves? Because to sell scrap parts requires Authorised Treatment Facility status. Salvaging parts from a scrap car also takes time, and it takes many years of experience to be able to judge the value of individual parts quickly. Our business is based on our ability to buy and sell scrap cars as complete units rather than break them down. To do this, and still be able to offer you great prices for your scrap car, we need to be able to buy, collect and sell quickly.
However, that’s not to say we do not deal with the scrap parts industry at all. We have many contacts in the industry and often sell scrap cars to traders who use the parts for repairs. This only occurs when we buy a scrap car that has obvious salvage though. For the most part, the scrap cars we buy are taken to Authorised Treatment Facilities where they are salvaged, depolluted and recycled. Some ATFs may sell scrap car parts taken from your vehicle, but not all do.
